We’re thrilled to share an update on our first bargaining session with the University administration—and we’re off to a strong start!
-How It Went
Negotiations are officially underway, and we had a productive first session. The administration heard our proposals loud and clear, and we’re already making progress.
-What We Discussed
- We presented the initial bargaining demands of the Graduate Workers of SLU – read the ratified demands here.
- We also presented key proposals to improve working conditions, including:
- Trainings on Paid Time – No more unpaid hours or out-of-pocket costs for mandatory trainings!
- Discipline & Dismissal Protections – A fair, transparent process with timely resolutions, especially critical for international students
- And more!

-First Tentative Agreement Reached!
We secured an early win: the Labor-Management Committee (LMC)! This committee will meet at least three times a year to address workplace issues and push for solutions with administrators. This is a big step toward stronger worker voices on campus.

We’ve locked in our bargaining dates for our next round of bargaining—stay tuned for more updates as we fight for a fair contract.
